Two members of 124 Squadron return from a busy weekend obtaining various weapons qualifications.
Instructor Flight Sergeant Bailey attended a Weapons Instructor (WI(AC)) Course, which enables him to teach weapons handling and safety procedures to all cadets, no matter how inexperienced. Also he now holds a qcWHT which enables him to test and pass cadets on their weapons handling tests, which must be completed before any cadet can fire the weapons for real. He currently can conduct weapons handling tests (WHT's) on the No.8 Lee Enfield .22 and also the L-98.
Flying Officer Boxhall attended the Coaching course, which enables him to coach cadets in the principles of good marksmanship, and help them to get the best out of their time on the ranges. Ultimately the coaching qualification should increase the chance of cadets getting weapons qualifications themselves. He also now holds a qcWHT on the No.8 Lee Enfield .22.
